La Rochelle, France

Cognac
The core of the brandy trade is in Cognac, located approximately 50 miles from La Rochelle. Captain Richard Hennessy founded his namesake company in 1765. Martell and Remy-Martin are also located here.
The Towers
The two 14th century towers Tour de la Chaîne and the Tour Saint Nicolas flank the harbor and once helped protect and guard the city from invaders. Now it welcomes millions of visitors to its harbor.
Île de Ré
